Taking in the View, The Circus, and Easter Preparation

There have been several nice days to just go for an afternoon stroll or a walk to the park.  The old architecture and landscapes of the city are just beautiful.

The circus was being advertised with posters all over the city.  We (actually I) spent a good amount of time pumping the kids up to go. I now understand 'the big-top' in reference to a circus building.  By this picture, you may think it was quite big but don't let it deceive you.  We sat in the last row which was about 15 feet away from the 'stage'.  It was actually a bit frightening being in this little confined tent with very large horses and camels running in circles in front of you.  This little circus consisted of 3 horses, 2 camels, 2 poodles, 1 clown, and 1 trapeze artist (who had a dual role of working the concession stand when she wasn't performing).  The kids enjoyed it so that is all that matters.

Great Gram surprised the kids with a little care package including Easter decor and egg decorating kits- thank you!  Plastic eggs for egg hunts do not exist here although they do have those that you can hang from a tree but won't open. This has been a real dilemma in the Galus household where the kids play 'Easter hunt' year round and distinctly know that there will be eggs hidden Easter morning for them to find.  We've decided to take the good ole' decorated eggs approach.  I think we have eaten more eggs in the last 2 weeks than we did all last year.  The kids are sure enjoying decorating them but may be a bit saddened to not find M&Ms and other goodies inside on Easter morning as the Easter Bunny does for little children in the U.S.  Still is a fun way to show how different parts of the World do things a little bit differently.

Looking into our neighboorhood in the city just over the bridge.

Trying to get a smile out of him

This is a very large park across the street from our house.  Its really interesting how different the kids climbing items could really be.  here is a rope and stumps the kids walk across.

This is similar to a merry go round - there are actually three very different ones here but I only captured one of them.  Somewhat wish I were a kid again here as these look much more fun that the ones I played on.

A type of swing and a hot commodity at the park - so if we see it not being used the kids head right for it.

Asked to get a nice picture of them together - this is the closest we came (only took about 10 shots)

Standing outside our front door.

Bought him a new shirt and asked to take his picture.  This is the pose I get :).

In front of the circus

Both about to blink from the flash

What is wrong with this picture?!  Yes, he has no clothes on and yes that is a window looking directly outside to a busy street of restaurants and shops.
