In October 2013, I found out I was selected for an amazing opportunity to do an 11 month assignment in Stade, Germany. Stade is located in Northern Germany near Hamburg. With an approximate leave date of February 2014, our family and friends wished us ‘Auf Wiedersehen’.
We decided it would only feel more real if we dressed in the traditional German outfits (actually these outfits are linked more with the Bavaria area in Southern Germany which we are told is almost like a whole different country in terms of German dialect and customs). Nonetheless, we had a fantastic time! Thank you Mom, Ma Galus, Lindsay, and Lori for coordinating it – we feel so loved!
